I (Lucie) am a language nerd + expert teacher with over 20 years of experience with learning from scratch (no bilingual parents, private tutors or private schools happening in my life š¤Ŗ).
I have a proven track record ofĀ thriving in foreign countries while achieving top grades and ratings accross many creativeĀ fields I've worked in (like live interpreting, research into politics, international trip organizinig and teaching). Iāve travelled and lived in over 20 countries and worked every job from room service and picking apples, to teaching French in a cafĆ© and finally starting my own bussiness. at some point I realized that my survival strategies are a real thing.
I could tell you all about when I studied russian history and interpreting in Granada (Spain), when I taught English in a Peruvian mountain village (no English speakers there, no internet, no fresh food for 5 months!), when I taught Spanish and French to English teenagers in underfunded public schools (English schools are tough!), or when I landed a dream job in Mexico.
But those stories are for another day. We are here for you today and the key takeaway from my life is that even a person like me, with no advantage of being native, with limited finances, no access to private schools and almost no onlineĀ connections (remember 2003?) was able to make the Spanish speaking dream come true, pass all exams andĀ sometimes even pass for a latina. (A few Mexicans did really ask āā¦so are you Spanish? ...Ā Argentinian?ā and I want toĀ help you get as close as possible to that feeling as you can.
