I'm Lucie Jedlička,
former school language teacher, ex-tutor platform survivor and now the creator of The Spanish Obsession language platform and Teacher to CEO coaching program for burnt out teachers.
I spent years doing everything “right” on paper: teaching in schools, marking until late at night, jumping onto tutoring platforms after work to “earn a bit extra.”
I went from £20/hour exam prep to higher-paid private tutoring… but the reality was the same:
no stability, no freedom, constant exhaustion, and always answering to someone else’s rules – schools, agencies, platforms.
At some point I realised:
If I can build everyone else’s curriculum… why can’t I build my own business?
So I started experimenting.
I studied online business, sales, marketing, tech – not as a marketer, but as a TEACHER who wanted her life back.
I shifted from endless 1:1 lessons and platforms to building my own small, profitable online groups, and I replaced my teacher salary.
Now I live and teach from Mexico, run my own group programs on my schedule, and help other teachers do the same – without turning into influencers or full-time content creators.
Teacher to CEO is the framework I wish I had when I was still stuck in staff rooms and on tutoring platforms, wondering if this kind of freedom was even possible.
